PCT Training

This section includes opportunities for PCTs.

Bulk Purchases

EMIS offers great deals on training services when bought in bulk.
The more training you purchase at one time, the better value the training becomes. You can bulk purchase on-site training sessions, hands-on courses or large scale seminars.

By purchasing in bulk PCTs can get the most out of training budgets, minimise costs, plan ahead and reduce administration time, whilst practices can rest assured knowing that their training needs are being looked after.

The PCT can allocate the training amongst their practices as and when they need it. EMIS will work with the PCT to organise the training sessions to best meet the practice’s requirements, whether this is tailored training for each practice or part of a larger initiative. If you have a local project that needs implementing then EMIS’s experienced Operations Managers can be used to roll this out.

EMIS offer variable discounted prices for our training services, with discounts available for as little as 10 days purchased together.

Activities in the past have included smoking cessation campaigns, helping practices to work towards their IM&T DES, preparing practices for GP2GP, data validation, becoming paper-light and even training on business continuity and disaster recovery.

Secondments

A secondment provides the equivalent of one full time Operations Manager to the PCT for either one month or up to and including 1 full calendar year.  The Operations Manager and PCT work closely together to devise a plan for delivering the IT strategy as set out by the PCT.  These can either be by on site training or off site training such as seminars. A contract is drawn up by EMIS and signed by both parties before the secondment commences. Feedback is welcomed from the PCT and their practices. A quarterly feedback form is provided for this purpose.

All EMIS Operations Mangers are fully trained for the position they work in and each team member if kept up to date by frequent-re-training.The secondment complements and does not replace the service provided by the IT system suppliers (including EMIS) and other 3rd parties.

Benefits to PCT:

  • More flexibility for PCT’s and practices as to when and how they receive their training.
  • The Operations Manager can assist with PCT projects and complement other teams within the IT sector
  • A seconded Operations Manager has up to date information directly from EMIS.
