Information Governance

The Information Governance seminar has been created to improve awareness of Information Governance and address the needs of Component One of the Information Management and Technology Directed Enhanced Service; it will assist you in achieving 40p per registered patient. Component One requires practices to be conversant with Information Governance and have roles, procedures, and policies in place to show compliance with this component. This seminar will provide you with an understanding of all the different pieces of legislation and cover your practice’s responsibilities for satisfying IG requirements. Following attendance you will be empowered to cascade awareness within your practice.

The training is a half-day seminar/workshop format and has been designed to offer advice and information in line with NHS guidelines.

Delegates will have an opportunity to learn:
  • What is meant by Information Governance
  • What are the standards and requirements that make up Information Governance
  • Why an organisation’s information is important
  • How to incorporate Information Governance into your normal business activities
  • Why all staff should take actions to address Information Governance threats and weaknesses

System Maintenance and Disaster Recovery

Half Day Seminar. Lecture style with projector (max 30 delegates).

Delegates will have an opportunity to learn how to:

  • Use security profiles and passwords
  • Protect your clinical system against unauthorised access
  • Use audit trails
  • Understand the email policy and internet use
  • Use antivirus precautions and protection service
  • Manage system and appointment backups
  • Collect and monitor patch updates
  • Perform database validations and integrity checks
  • Log faults with EMIS support and monitor them using the ECR tracker
  • Use EMIS online.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Half Day Seminar. Lecture style with projector (max 30 delegates).

The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery seminar has been created to provide a first response and framework, in line with NHS strategy guidelines, that you can use to continue to operate in exceptional and adverse conditions.

Compliance with IM&T DES Component Two – Preparation of data for accreditation rewards practices with 44p per patient; this seminar assists you towards achieving the Information Governance data standard.

The seminar covers general disaster recovery recommendations; the Business Continuity toolkit is an additional tool, available for delegates attending the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery seminar. It consists of several documents that you can use to record and plan your disaster recovery processes including:

  • Risk Assessment form
  • Communication cascade chart
  • Supplier, staff and Health Service contact Lists
  • Backup log.

Floor walking

Floorwalking is a service where one or more of our experienced Operations Managers are made available to walk around your practice resolving problems & dealing with queries. It is an ideal way to follow-up a new installation, upgrade or to provide a training update to your staff.
 
Floorwalking allows your practice members to be trained on the job, our experienced OM's can assist and train your staff while they remain at their workstations. They provide immediate and solutions & answers to everyday problems & tasks that occur. 
 
Floorwalking provides end users with the help and support they need to implement new systems, business change processes & work flows. It can also be used to review current working processes.

 

EMIS LV: Hints and Tips
