COPD

The achieved figure for COPD13 has reduced dramatically since upgrading to version 14.1

This is due to the provisional searches not having the read code 66YM in the criteria. Now in COPD13 the patient must have 66YM and then the read code for the Breathlessness test.

Contraceptive Services (Sexual Health)

The figures in Sexual Health (SH2) have dropped since upgrading to the new ruleset
The provisional search allowed EMISNQHE32 as a valid code for advice on long acting reversible contraception. Now only 8CAw is accepted.

CVD Risk

A patient is in the “not included” section of the PP1 Denominator in Look ahead when they should be included:

There is a known issue with the search, whereby the PP1 denominator search is referencing the baseline rather than the reference date when using look ahead. This will be corrected on the next release.

The patient is too old to need a QRISK score, but PP1 says they need one:

New hypertensive patients need a QRISK score check under PP1. If the patient is outside the age range for QRISK they still come through as requiring a check. The only option at the moment is to add an exception code as the patient is not suitable for the check, although this may change if the ruleset is amended in future.

The practice may raise this via their PCT for further clarification if required.

According to PP2 ex smokers still require smoking advice:

The final version of PP2 requires the user to add lifestyle advice to everyone in PP1. There is no effect on smoking or anything else. It is a single code and requires a “67H%” code.

Smoking and Records23

Why are some Ex-Smokers starting to get alerts regarding smoking advice?:

This will most likely be due to the patient being coded with 137L which has been removed from the V14 criteria. The practice will need to re-code the patient as 137S which is the read code for Ex-Smoker.
